Episode 12 - Prophecy Girl
The season 1 finale…so of course it has to be a big episode. I’m surprised though at the emotion and finality of it all. It’s an emotional episode. I feel so sorry for both Buffy and Giles.
The Master, though, is in rare form. Funny, at the hight of his power and teetering on the edge of being suave.
Master: Whadaya think? 5.1?
Buffy: Fine. That’s okay. I can’t put it off any longer. I have to meet my terrible fate.
Angel: Well, there’s gotta be some way around it.
Giles: Listen. Some prophecies are, are a bit dodgy. They’re, they’re mutable. Buffy herself has, has thwarted them time and time again, but this is the Codex. There is nothing in it that does not come to pass.
Angel: Then you’re reading it wrong.
Giles: I wish to God I were!
Giles: Tomorrow night Buffy will face the Master, and she will die.
Angel: I know this is hard.
Buffy: What do you know about this? You’re never gonna die!
Angel: You think I want anything to happen to you? Do you think I could stand it?
Giles: Buffy, if the Master rises…
Buffy: I don’t care! I don’t care. Giles, I’m sixteen years old. I don’t wanna die.
Joyce: You all right?
Joyce: Probably just full from that bite of dinner you nearly had.
Buffy: Mom, we can’t afford this.
Joyce: The way you’ve been eating, we can afford it.
Joyce: Oh, but it was a beautiful night!
Buffy: And you had your whole life ahead of you.
Buffy: Must be nice.
Ms. Calendar: The part that gets me, though, is where Buffy is the Vampire Slayer. She’s so little.
Angel: You’re in love with her.
Xander: Aren’t you?
Buffy: Thanks for having me.
Master: Nice shot.
Master: And by the way… I like your dress.
Buffy: I may be dead, but I’m still pretty.
Giles: I’m not dancing, though.
Ms. Calendar: We’ll see.
Angel: By the way, I really like your dress.
Buffy: Yeah, yeah. Big hit with everyone.
